On the nose aromas are of pronounced black fruits, plums, damsons and cherry with a disticnt spicey peppery quaiity. The palate is full and smooth with deep ripe fruit flavours, soft and lush yet with a bright acidity from the high level of Montepulciano. The finish is deep and satisfying with further notes of cinnamon spice, jammy fruit and soft oak. 70% Montepulciano 30% Syrah Montepulciano based wines are fantatsic food wines, the rich fruity flavours and mellow tannins are a great match for typical tomato pasta and pizza dishes, Italian salami and sausage meat, cold ham and charcuterie, antipasti and roasted red meats.
