The grapes used for the Turlo wine are from vineyards on the hills which rise above the northern banks of the Corbara Lake, once steeping and fermentation of the wine has taken place the juice is matured in a combination of cement lined tubs and traditional barriques to ensure a harmonious and complex balance of fruit and oak characteristics. Turlo is a wine rich in texture and bright berry flavours including blackberry, red and black cherry, blackcurrant, plum, damson and steeped strawberry. The tannins are soft and mellow giving a fine but subtle structure. Hints of mocha, fragrant herbs, bitter chocolate and linger in the satisfying finish. 50% Sangiovese 30% Cabernet Sauvignon 20% Merlot A smooth, complex red that will pair beautifully with a variety of classic Italian dishes such as robustly sauced meats including pork and wild boar; Orvieto favourites, pasta with a tomato Ragu sauce, hearty vegetable or meat stews and poultry dishes. |
