This imbues the wines with a naturally good acidity. Diego is passionate about employing environmentally friendly methods of viticulture and no chemical pesticides, fungidcides or herbicides are used in his vineyards, even the wine press in the tiny winery is made of wood, as a result his fantastic wines are made in very limited numbers. Bright, deep red in colour with a complex nose combining plum, currant, cherry, tobacco and warming oak. Juicy on the palate with vibrant red fruit flavours and nuances of rose, leather and vanilla. A superb example of a Brunello di Montalcino, the structure is firm yet the mouthfeel remains generous with ripe red fruits and lively acidit, the fine tannins last long into the finish. 100% Sangiovese An outstanding wine that will match perfectly with grilled or roasted red meats, such as beef, lamb or venison, also wonderful with duck, wild boar, hare, grouse & guinea fowl., aged cheeses such as Parmesan and Pecorino Romano & tomato based pasta dishes |
