Classification

Pask is one of the leading winemakers in the Gimblett Gravels region of Hawkes Bay on New Zealands North Island. Chris Pask emigrated from England to New Zealand in 1960 and in his profession as a pilot had a great vantage point to identify suitable wine growing plots. The Pask Gimblett Gravels vineyard was first planted in 1981, a pioneering decision as it was the first vineyard to be planted in a region now recognised as one of the foremost in New Zealand for viticulture.

Chris remains actively involved in the business and Pask`s wonderful wines continue to win awards all over the world.

Dark blackcurrant, blackberry, redcurrant & spice aromas with a hint of tar followed by an expressive brooding palate of ripe dark fruits, savoury licorice notes & a mineralic edge. A good crunchy tannic bite provides structure & a bright vibrancy, earthy notes, gentle oak, tobacco & spiced fruitcake linger in the finish.
