Chris Pask emigrated from England to New Zealand in 1960 and in his profession as a pilot had a great vantage point to identify suitable wine growing plots. The Pask Gimblett Gravels vineyard was first planted in 1981, a pioneering decision as it was the first vineyard to be planted in a region now recognised as one of the foremost in New Zealand for viticulture. Chris remains actively involved in the business and Pask`s wonderful wines continue to win awards all over the world. Dark blackcurrant, blackberry, redcurrant & spice aromas with a hint of tar followed by an expressive brooding palate of ripe dark fruits, savoury licorice notes & a mineralic edge. A good crunchy tannic bite provides structure & a bright vibrancy, earthy notes, gentle oak, tobacco & spiced fruitcake linger in the finish. www.pask.co.nz Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec Merlot This Bordeaux blend is a great match for lamb chops with rosemary, fillet of beef and steak with mushroom sauce, barbecued meats, peking duck, cheddar, brie & mozzarella cheese, Moroccan vegetable tagine.
