The Domaine & Amiot winemakers have been recognised as producers of great wines by many within the wine industry including Robert Parket & they have over the years built up an enviable portfolio of Crus. Traditonal methods of viticulture and winemaking are used here to produce supremely elegant wines that possess richness, complexity & refinement and which are capable of great aging potential. The 1999 vintage produced wines that were rich in fruit flavours and in body, drinking beautifully now and until 2019 for those of Premier Cru & perhaps still further for those of Grand Cru level. Ripe orchard apple and pear fruit & even tropical notes on the nose combined with caramel, soft oak and acacia ho ney. The palate is rich but well structured with clean notes of minerality to keep the voluptuos fruit in check. The finish is long & full flavoured with notes of soft mellow oak, spice & dried apricots. www.domaine-amiotguyetfils.com A ripe rich white Burgundy is a great match for white fish and white meat dishes simply prepared in sauce vierge or a white sauce or light cheese sauce. Also fantastic when paired with shellfish such as crab & langoustines or creamy vegetable risottos. Other Chassagne-Montrachet wines |
