Since 1969 the estate has been under the ownership of Clement Fayat who has invested greatly in the vineyard development, reconstruction & technical advancement of the wine estate. The wines of Chateau La Dominique are some of the finest of the Saint Emilion appellation; the average age of the vines is 31 years providing the grapes with great depth of flavour, juice is vinified by plot in optimal thermoregulated conditions before 15-18 months aging in new oak barrels & esteemed oenologist Michel Rolland is on hand as a vastly experienced advisor to the estate. Deep, rich red in colour the nose is brimming with dark berry & orchard fruits such as plum, blackberry & cherry coupled with savoury herbal notes & hints of cedar & coffee. Thes e flavours develop & open up on the medium bodied palate which has good weight & tannic structure.
