The San Martino wine is made from Sangiovese clones that have been specially selected for their small intensely flavoured berries, these grapes are harvested as late as mid October to allow them further time to ripen and develop flavour. The wine is aged in French barriques for 18 months before being aged for a further 6 months in bottle to allow the oak characteristics to fullow integrate before release.
