The company remains 100% under family control, producing limited quantities of fine wines. Such is the high quality of the wines produced here that Hugh Johnson gave Cousino Macul the biggest compliment possible in the wine world naming them as "the First Growth of Chile". The denomination Antiguas Reservas is given to the Cousino Macul wines that have reached a certain level of perfection and ageing potential, produced in limited quantities from the best Cabernet Sauvignon grapes of the harvest before being matured exclusively in French oak barrels. This elegant Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in French oak for 12 months and rested in bottle for a further 6 months prior to release. Dark red in colour showing aromas of spices, cherries, blackcurrants, cedar & mint on the nose.
