The company remains 100% under family control, producing limited quantities of fine wines. Such is the high quality of the wines produced here that Hugh Johnson gave Cousino Macul the biggest compliment possible in the wine world naming them as "the First Growth of Chile". Cousino Macul was one of the first Chilean vineyards to produce Chardonnay. The vines were originally planted in Macul, Maipo Valley, from stalks brought from Burgundy in France at the end of the 19th Century. This Chardonnay is fresh & fruity in style, easy to drink with great varietal character. Clear and golden in colour, the delicate bouquet reveals floral notes & fruity aromas, such as pineapple, melon & apple.
